During the redesign of my blog, I got an itch to go one step further and create a forum that we can all use to discuss Internet business topics.

One of the reasons I wanted to redesign my blog was to make sure every visitor could easily find information that’s relevant to them. I get A LOT of emails each day from people asking me for help or advice, and I love offering my feedback; but with more emails comes less time to respond to everyone.

With this new forum feature, I hope to achieve the following:

• Make sure everyone can see questions and answers – If one person contacts me about something, most likely 10 other people have the same question. But, if I continue to offer help through email, I’m only able to help one person at a time. With our new forum, everyone can become part of the conversation!
• Peer Support – I’m only one person and I’m not always able to respond to everyone who contacts me as quickly as I would like to. With the addition of a forum, anyone can jump into the conversation and help answer questions!

Cool Features:

I created my forum with bbpress – the same guys who developed WordPress! It’s a very slick plugin any WordPress user can add to their blog.

Just like WP, bbpress allows you to install plugins that can enhance the appearance and features of your blog. After customizing my own bbpress theme and installing a bunch of plugins, I’m happy to announce the following SUPER COOL features of our forum!

1. Add Your Social Profiles – you can add a link to the following social networks onto your Discussions profile and posts:
   • Twitter
   • Digg
   • Delicious
   • Flickr
   • Technorati
2. Add Your Latest Tweet – you can add your Twitter account to your profile and display your latest tweet on your profile page and posts! Please note, this feature does not currently work in Internet Explorer and also has some issues on posts. I am working on fixing these issues.
3. Add Your Website – you can link to your website from your profile and posts!
4. Add a Custom Signature – you can add a signature that will automatically appear below every post you make!
5. Notification Emails – simply add a topic to your “favorites” and you will receive email notifications whenever there is a new reply to that topic. You can also set it up so that ALL topics you start or reply to will be added to your favorites!
6. Suggest Topics – want me to write about a particular topic? Need a video made about something? Leave your suggestion in the forum!
7. Get to Know Other FresheVenture.com Readers – introduce yourself and meet other Internet business owners!
8. Help, Help and More Help – having technical issues with your website? Want to learn how to drive more traffic to your site? Post your questions and get help from others!

In order to ensure each of you can begin utilizing our new Discussions section ASAP, I’ve create some how to videos. Check them out anytime you need help editing your profile, starting or replying to topics, registering, etc.
