Scammed? You betcha! More than I care to count. My biggest scam was to pay some money and this “legitimate” company would assign you different websites and each one would give you a piece of the “profits”. It seemed convincing because they periodically sent me reports showing my “earnings”. I found out about the scam when the person who got me into the program told me (in an email) how much money they lost (ALOT more than I did). I emailed the company and they were very rude, threatened to sue me, etc. It wasn't pretty! I got Paypal involved since I ran my credit card through them, reported the scam, and was able to recoup all my money back (around $600). Thank God! Needless to say, since then I have been very careful, do plenty of research, use http://www.scam.com as one resource and use my mistakes as a tool to know what NOT to get into. Going with the gut alot more these days. Thanks again for an opportunity to express my thoughts. Peace.

As a seasoned world / backpack traveler, I'd say in terms of scams the virtual and real worlds, the online and offline worlds, are largely the same. Your best defense is your common sense. Trust everyone and be disappointed once in a while, rather than distrust everyone and be miserable all of the time (approximately quoting R Kipling). But keep your common sense guard up. When you think you and your common sense protect you from criminals, and you let your guard down, you'll soon wish you hadn't.

before joining any programme do some research ask some questions if possible find some people who are already using the programme,forums such as the warrior forum can be good places to get advice.
