Well, I never could get much traction selling ad space. I also have not had much success putting ads to my own products up on my blog. What has worked best for me is to get a list out of my website. Offer them a free ebook to join the list. And then hit the list with offers to my products.

Interesting stats Beat! I think they're right – my blog seemed to be at its best when I posted close to daily. It's the inconsistency or cricket-crickets that hinder blog growth. All of the top bloggers seem to post daily.

A theme of great interest. Your post also makes the point, I feel, that blogging and online marketing are related, but not the same thing. Be it as it may, from a variety of sources, I pieced together this information: about 30% of bloggers are professional (making money blogging), 70% are hobby bloggers. Pro bloggers operate an average 4 blogs. 2 out of 3 pros have been blogging for more than 2 years. The top 500 pro generate 300 times more posts than the average blogger, and the top 5,000 bloggers generate 100 times more posts than the average blogger. Tells me to up my blog post production!
