Happy Thanksgiving! Quick Message from Your Internet Business Blogger

It’s been 6 months since I officially launched FresheVenture.com and I couldn’t be more grateful for each and every one of my readers! YOU are what keeps my blog alive and YOU are what keeps me writing.

Since this is a holiday week, I will be taking the rest of it off from posting to spend time with family and friends. I’m hosting a car club Thanksgiving Dinner this Friday, so my house will be filled with about 30 hungry people!

Before I go, I want to thank everyone who has joined my newsletter, subscribed to my RSS Feed, left comments on my posts, joined my forum, followed me on Twitter and Facebook, entered my contest and spread the word about my blog! Honestly, I couldn’t have made my blog a success without your help. You will all be in my thoughts as I say thanks this holiday season :).

Thank You!

Also, thank you to everyone who’s filled out my Blog Engagement Survey! If you haven’t had a chance, please feel free to fill it out this week.

Quick Message

This year has been filled with ups and downs – from hard drive crashes to fantastic interviews and new friendships. It’s been a rollercoaster. At times, the feeling of being overwhelmed can become so consuming that our blessings become lost in the mix. About a week ago, I was on the brink of a meltdown, until I had an epiphany…

You Don’t Have to Do It All!

Really? Really! This may seem logical to some of you, but this is a concept that has never stuck well with me. Whether it’s because of control issues, ADD or perfectionism, I consistently overfill my plate with responsibilities and tasks. The problem is when you try to do everything, you end up doing nothing well.

I have quite a few businesses under construction right now that I hope to launch some time in my lifetime. There are also some existing businesses that I would prefer not to work on anymore. So, I decided to clean house and make some decisions.

Out with the Old, In with the New!

I’ve decided to stop accepting new clients for my web design company. After 4 years of offering design and SEO services, I’ve come to realize there is a very strong glass ceiling with this type of business. With a service business, you can only make as much as you can bill in a day – no making money in your sleep. So, imagine how much more lucrative this business could be if I chose to create premium WordPress themes rather than offering custom design services?

My stores have always been my breadwinners and deserve love and attention. There was a sister store I had planned to add to the family earlier this year that got pushed back due to other engagements. I hope to revive it early next year and take advantage of spring sales!

There are a couple membership site ideas I have in mind, but as time has been limited, they haven’t seen daylight yet. However, there is one I started back in the summer that I’ve recently revisited and would like to launch early next year. If I can try to focus on just this one for the time being, I should do alright.

I now have only 60 something emails to read through. Earlier this month it was a few hundred. I’ve decided to make some changes to my email, such as unsubscribing from newsletters I never read and prioritizing my responses. At some point, I’ve got to get past reading emails during the day, right?

The point of all this is – I’m trying to limit the exportation of my resources and time. In doing so, I will hopefully be able to achieve more within each of my Internet businesses.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, just know that you have options. If everything is a priority, nothing is. So, focus your energy where it counts – your money makers and the projects that make you smile!
