Contest Winners to Be Announced Tuesday, October 6th!

I unexpectedly took a vacation this week and headed up to see my family. When I say “unexpectedly” I mean I packed for a weekend and stayed for a week :). It’s been really relaxing and I’m feeling energized and ready to work (ok, I’m also considering taking a vacation from my vacation).

Our contest has ended and I’m in the process of determining the winner, 5 finalists and newbie blogger with the most votes. With over 800 votes placed, our contest exceeded my expectations and has me extremely excited about future activities!

Many of our nominees have let me know that they’ve seen an increase in traffic, made great new blog connections and earned new readers and subscribers over this last month. Since that was my goal, I couldn’t be happier to hear it worked for those of you who worked it!

I’ve been able to make great new connections through this and I even landed my first phone interview by one of our nominees! I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone and I hope we all stay in touch – there is power in numbers!

I will be requesting feedback from each of our nominees soon, so each of us can learn the advantages and disadvantages a blog contest can offer. I will also be writing details about how I hosted the contest and what I did right and wrong. Hopefully, this information will help inspire some of you to host your own blog events and perhaps avoid the mistakes I’ve made.
